Anna Goubault

Anna Goubault is an independent director with Calderwood in the Cayman Islands. She brings great experience to fund boards in the field of investment funds, both from a governance perspective and in relation to regulatory compliance and financial services law, having spent over 15-years as a practising attorney in the Cayman Islands with leading law firms.
Biography

As a financial services regulatory and legal consultant, Anna also advised the Ministry of Financial Services on the development and introduction of several key pieces of financial services legislation. These included laws relating to compliance with the global standards on economic substance and the enhancements to the domestic regulatory regime for investment funds.

During her legal practice, Anna was an attorney with Maples & Calder and Ogier in the Cayman Islands. She represented some of these firms’ most prominent hedge fund, fund-of-funds and private equity clients. Her expertise centred around matters concerning fund structuring, establishment, ongoing legal and regulatory compliance, fund governance and the establishment and operation of investment management entities in the Cayman Islands, in addition to general corporate advice regarding their respective ongoing operations.

Anna is an honours graduate in law from the University of Liverpool, England and qualified as an attorney in the Cayman Islands in 2005. Prior to that she received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Loyola University, New Orleans, USA.

Anna is an approved director under the Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014 in the Cayman Islands and is a notary public in the Cayman Islands. Anna is an active member of the community, having served as a board member of the National Pensions Board, the Caymanian Bar Association and the non-profit organisation, Feed Our Future. Anna is currently a director of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
