Casey McDonald
Independent Director
Casey McDonald is an independent director at Calderwood, where he accepts appointments on the boards of investment funds and related structures. He is the head of Calderwood’s Distressed Funds and Special Situations practice and is recognised for his solution driven approach to complex and contentious scenarios.
Biography

Prior to joining Calderwood, Casey was the Managing Director of the Cayman office of a boutique insolvency and fraud investigation firm.  Previously he spent 15 years with KPMG working in Canada, the Cayman Islands and London, as well as the British Virgin Islands where he led KPMG’s advisory practice and co-managed the office.  

During his career, Casey has acted as a shareholder or Court appointed fiduciary in respect of hedge funds, banks, insurers, property development companies, shipping companies and manufacturing groups.  He has been appointed in these roles throughout the Caribbean, as well as North America, Europe, Hong Kong and China.

Casey is actively involved with a number of industry associations, He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants, INSOL, and the Cayman Islands Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association.  

He is also an Accredited Director of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Canada, a Registered Professional Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association.
